In particular, stressing human growth and quest for meaning in touristic experiences - eTourism.

Visiting researcher from University of Calabria (Italy)

I’m Maurizio De Rose, post-doc researcher in educational technology at the University of Calabria (Italy). I am currently a visiting researcher at webatelier.net lab. My research interests lie in the field of e-learning, with particular attention to the design and evaluation of personalized learning environments. From April 2012, I’m following several projects research and development at the webatelier.net lab, in particular:

Laghi e Monti Life:
Aim: promote creation of multimedia contents to the Insubria region (Italy/Switzerland) proposing a new way of seeing communication in the tourism sector; design e-learning contents for future training of institutions and tour operators. The first results were the implementation of Multimedia Interview Management System and currently I am doing statistical analysis of the multimedia-interviews. These results, will be presented in a final report which is currently in production.

Il turismo del futuro tra tecnologia, comunicazione e ospitalità:
Aim: training and certification of tourism and hospitality professionals in order to improve digital literacy skills and hospitality.

In terms of the scientific research, I’m studying Online Reputation Systems in Web 2.0, in order to design a model which can be applied in e-learning field as a support system to the choice of e-learning courses in the tourism sector, and as a support model to final assessment of e-learning environments.

I would like to thank Prof Lorenzo Cantoni and all the research group for their willingness to collaborate with me. A research group that works to 360 degrees in the eTourism and eLearning field, where scientific rigor, motivation to research and methodologies used, are among the central features of the working approach.
