Nadzeya is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI, University of Lugano, Switzerland). Her research focus is on eLearning use in the hospitality and tourism industry.
Nadzeya has completed her PhD in fall 2013. Her PhD investigated the use of Information and Communication Technologies in the tourism field, while looking in particular how Ministries of Tourism are using eLearning courses to educate and certify their travel trade partners. Nadzeya has done interviews with the representatives of the Tourism New Zealand and Swiss National Tourism Office, as well as have investigated motivations of the travel agents based in the United Kingdom, India and New Zealand on attending online training activities about tourism destinations. Nadzeya is a teaching assistant for the courses “Online Communication Design”, “eGovernment”, “Progettazione e analisi del web” and “Futour.net – Technologia Communicazione Ospitalita’ Accoglienza per Operatori Turistici”. She is also managing various applied research projects at the webatelier.net laboratory.
Originally from Belarus, Nadzeya completed her undergraduate studies in Lithuania (European Humanities University), has Masters degrees from both Belarus (Belarusian State University) and Switzerland (Università della Svizzera italiana) and has spent research time in Hong Kong, China (Hong Kong Polytechnic University), Glasgow, United Kingdom (Business School, Department of Human Resource Management of the University of Strathclyde) and Auckland, New Zealand (New Zealand Tourism Research Institute of the Auckland University of Technology). Her visiting scholarship was funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
