Profile: Lorenzo Cantoni graduated in Philosophy and holds a PhD in Education and Linguistics. He is professor at the University of Lugano (Switzerland), Faculty of Communication Sciences, where he is also Vice-Dean. Lorenzo Cantoni is director of the laboratories webatelier.net: production and promotion over the Internet, NewMinE Lab: New Media in Education Lab; is executive director of TEC-Lab: Technology Enhanced Communication Lab and scientific director of eLab: eLearning Lab.

Research interests: eLearning, New Media in Tourism Communication, Usability and Quality.

Profile: graduated in 2003 in Communication Sciences at the University of Lugano, Marco has been collaborating since the same year with webatelier.net. His main activities focus on online communication while his phd research is on visualization of search engine results.

Profile: Alessandro’s phd research is on communication, technologies and tourism. He has worked with prof. Cantoni since 2005, after the degree in Communication Sciences at the University of Lugano.He also worked as instructional designer at the eLearning Lab where he coordinated three Swiss Virtual Campus projects. Alessandro ha just visiting Bournemouth University (UK) and Temple University (USA) for a six months period each, thanks to a grant of the Swiss National Research Foundation.

Research interests: Cultural Tourism Online Communication, Web Reputation, Web2.0 in Tourism

Davide Eynard, researcher

Profile: Davide Eynard graduated in Computer Engineering in 2005 and got a PhD in Computer Science in 2009 at Politecnico di Milano, with a thesis about participative systems and Semantic Web technologies. From January 2009 he collaborates with webatelier.net as a post-doc researcher. Between his main research topics there are wikis, folksonomies, and annotation systems, together with their semantic extensions.

Research interests: Social Semantic Web, Linked Data, Semantic Annotations.

Elena Marchiori, researcher

Profile: Elena’s research interests focus on web reputation and reliability in the e-tourism field. She has studied the online communication of the cruise industry, and done consultancy activities in this area. Elena holds a Master degree in Media Management from the University of Lugano and earned her Bachelor degree in Communication Sciences at the University of Padua (Italy - www.unipd.it).

Research interests: Social Networks, Web2.0, Web Reputation

Nadzeya Kalbaska, researcher

Profile: Nadzeya Kalbaska is a Ph.D. candidate at webatelier.net (www.webatelier.net), at the Faculty of Communication Sciences (University of Lugano, Switzerland - www.usi.ch). Her research interests focus on eTourism, eLearning, Education and Training, Destination Management Organization Trainings. Nadzeya holds a Master Degree in International Tourism from the University of Lugano (Faculty of Economics) and earned her Bachelor degree in Preservation of Cultural Heritage and its use in Tourism from European Humanities University, Belarus-Lithuania.
